Sunday Morning Thoughts

Highly Favored

If you value hopelessness, the world will be hopeless. If you value judgement of another, you will feel the fruits of separation. If you value sweetness, sweetness will come. If you value receiving Love, the world will begin to shop at your doorstep in completely different embodiments. You will receive Love.

The Way of The Heart – Shanti Christo

I heard Alberto Villoldo, a Shaman, tell a story:

A person (Tom) was leaving a village and he saw someone (Ron) walking towards him from the next town over. Tom asked Ron, “What is the town like that you just left?” Ron asked, “How did you perceive the town you just left?” Tom’s response? “It was terrible—I witnessed many crimes, people being cruel to each other.” Ron’s last response to Tom was, “If that is what you saw in that village, you will see the same in the next.

I am a glass half full kind of person. I naturally look for the good. I truly feel all people are inherently good. And that is what comes back to me. That doesn’t mean I haven’t had bad experiences, but I still will look for good. I was in NYC and left my wallet in the cab. My husband felt it was gone for good. I knew he could be right, but he could be wrong. I know I would have tried to send it back to the owner.

That is exactly what happened. The cab driver overnighted the wallet back to me. I left my wallet in not one but two airports, and I got it back both times. There are so many times I am presented with goodness, and kindness amazes me.

I started telling people “Don’t worry it will be fine, I am highly favored by God.” My family had an issue with that, but I held to this knowing. I am no more favored than any other person—the difference is I know I am highly favored. Do you? If not, start start asking Spirit to show you, to give you eyes, to see as Spirit sees.

You might be shown how your perception has skewed your vision, or you might see favors coming your way. It could be in the simplest things, like a smile from a stranger. St. Teresa, the little flower, knew the smallest of actions done with great love changes you and others around you.

The news so many times shares hopelessness and despair. My mom used to call me up and tell me all the terrible things going on and then precede to tell me she couldn’t sleep. I questioned her “Why are you watching the news? There is much good happening, too. Look for that.”

One of my teachers said to me “If you are going to watch the news, do it to watch what triggers you. Be an observer watching your own reactions and feelings, and then choose to have another look. While watching the news can you stay grounded? Can you watch what is happening in your mind? Is it fearful? Quiet your heart and listen to the beautiful voice within.”

Let’s all remind ourselves to have another look when we see the bad and listen to the whispering voice that will always speak the Truth to us and help us to grow and learn. Have a beautiful Sunday.
