The Mind, or some would say the Heart, is in every instant creating. That is the part of us that is connected to God. Some would call it Christ consciousness. When you look through history, you see that truth. I always pondered what made someone a genius. Was it that they knew how to use more of their brain? Did they just have more brains? I think it was their ability to connect with the Mind or the Heart, to Christ consciousness.
Einstein, Michelangelo, DaVinci, Tesla. Sometimes, the world accepted their genius, and other times they were rejected. Had Tesla been heard instead of Edison, I believe the world around us would look very different. His idea for electricity was that it could be shared. The egos of the world set out to destroy him because they wanted it for themselves. Tesla took joy in sharing.
I look forward to the day when we all turn things over to the Divine. This is simple but not easy because our ego is loud, saying “Heck no I won’t go!” I never understood how I could be at such peace, a peace that does not come from this world, and then choose to leave it. I would know I made a choice that took me out of that place of peace. The choice from mindfulness to mindlessness.
Jesus said no man can have two masters. I think what Jesus was saying was at each moment, you choose the master over and over again. Over time the right mindedness wins more and more.
Each of us has different perceptions. How we choose to view life defines the speed in which we awaken. Let’s say that three-year-old identical twins are playing in the family room. The mother sees them playing and decides to go get the mail. When she walks out the door, they turn around. One of the twins thinks she was abandoned, and the other, seeing her mom walk back in the house, just keeps on playing. This twin never felt abandoned and grew up without abandonment issues. The other one set herself up to prove she has been abandoned. All through life, she has abandonment issues. This is not to say she will never find her way, but she will have to replace these perceptions. The one who did not have the issues was in a better place to see things differently.
My father always watched who I was hanging around. He would always say to me, “You hang out with like-minded people; your friends are a reflection of you.” I always protested, saying I could hang around people that did drugs. It did not mean I was doing drugs or that I would. My Dad was right.
He made a choice in his early years. Zen—that’s my Dad—saw horrors during WWII. At the age of ten, he was in a Russian prison camp. Murder and death were all around him. When he was released at twelve, he made his way to Lebanon. When he was in Lebanon, he met an authority figure he could not stand—he hated him. He went to his tent and planned on killing the man. All of a sudden, he had his miraculous moment. He asked himself if he wanted his life from that moment forward to be defined by hate. He walked away. Projection makes perception. He gave up his judgment.
Taking this journey to freedom is like an onion. I do some work on anger, frustration, ________, fill in the blank. I would think, By jove! I think I’ve got it. A month goes by, and BAM, another layer comes up. All I did was get rid of a layer of the onion. So, back to work I go.
Let me tell you this onion can be REAL BIG. The good news is the Divine treats us gently as we go through the process. God knows we are just small children. I tried not to yell at my kids as they made mistakes, yet I can be so harsh on myself. Ron—that’s my teacher and energy worker—always says to be gentle with yourself. Divine/Source/God is always gentle. At times, I just need to remind myself and be gentle.
Be gentle with yourself this day, and enjoy!

Theresa – didn’t we already do this one?
