You can have a strong desire to awaken, to know God. (Don’t get caught up in the title. I give Divine—change that to anything you want in your head.) Without intention, desire does not stay front and center. Intention helps us to stay committed to our desire.
When we find ourselves in difficult situations, know this: God uses situations to help us feel what we have suppressed in the past. When we allow our feelings and don’t suppress them, we grow.
Yet, it is so easy to suppress, “I think I will have another drink,” “I am going shopping—that will make me feel better,” and so on and so on. It is uncomfortable to sit with our feelings which we deem to be bad or negative. To suppress what we feel causes havoc in our life.
There is something you need to know; God uses situations to help us feel what we have suppressed. Things come up that we have been hiding from, and now we can truly accept and heal.
We have all had people in our lives that have caused hardship. What if that person was exactly what you needed to grow?
One day while I was driving, I was having a moment of great gratitude. I was being thankful for everything. All of a sudden, I found myself grateful for people who had brought me what I considered hardships because I realized I would not be the person I am without them in my life. What I considered hardships ended up being blessings.
This realization helped me see that events are neutral, but my thoughts are not. When we allow the thoughts of the three cousins to consume our minds, we make it difficult to hear the true voice of Love speak to us. I am now grateful for all in my life, even though at times I forget that.
I digress. So, we need intention to keep desire front and center. Once again, a mantra or prayer everyday will help. Whatever words you use must be felt in your body when you say them.
When they become just words, it is time to change your mantra or prayer. If you cannot find the words, look for someone else’s that ring true for you. As time goes on, those words become yours and from there you will add as Spirit leads you.
Stay true to yourself, figure out what you desire, and stay focused with intention. Thanks for your time.
